Border Run from Hua Hin

A border run is a trip out of Thailand and back to request a new permitted period of stay. We organise same-day group trips from Hua Hin to Myanmar via Ranong.

A visa run usually refers to a trip to apply for a new Thai visa at an embassy or consulate. Consular visits and Thai visa applications are not included in this border run.

We travel by minibus from Hua Hin to Ranong, then take a speedboat to Myanmar. After the border formalities and lunch, we cross back to Thailand and return to Hua Hin.

The boat crossing takes approximately 10 minutes each way and is a required part of the route. Both crossings are included in the price.

We meet at Tops Market in Hua Hin, in the parking area alongside the building, between 07:20 and 07:30. See the map in the Meeting Point section above.

Please make your own way to the meeting point. The included transfer starts at Tops Market; hotel pickup is not included. Check the departure date and meeting time in your booking confirmation.

The trip takes one day. Departure from Hua Hin is around 07:30, with an estimated return around 19:00. There is no overnight hotel stay.

Actual return times depend on traffic, weather, boat crossings and border processing. Allow the whole day and do not schedule a flight or onward journey immediately after the estimated return.

Eligibility is checked individually based on your nationality, the basis of your entry and your immigration history, including previous border runs and extensions of stay.

Attach photos of your passport’s personal details page and all pages showing Thai visas, entry and exit stamps, and extensions to your booking request. Tell us about any valid visas, previous entry refusals or overstays. We will check the conditions for your trip before sending a payment link.

Your permitted stay depends on your nationality, visa type or eligibility for visa-exempt entry, and the rules in force at the time of travel. After receiving your request, we will check the conditions for your passport.

Thai immigration makes the final decision on admission and the permitted length of stay. After re-entering Thailand, check the “admitted until” date in your new entry stamp.

Choose your trip date based on when you will pass through Thai departure immigration. This must be no later than the final permitted day shown in your entry stamp or extension.

Select an available date in the booking form and tell us when your permitted stay ends. Choose a date with some time to spare where possible, as availability, document checks and unexpected delays can affect your plans. You do not have to wait until the last day.

Bring your original passport with at least six months of validity remaining and at least two blank pages.

For the preliminary check, attach photos of the personal details page and all pages showing Thai visas, entry and exit stamps, and extensions of stay. If additional documents are needed for your circumstances, we will let you know before payment.

The price includes shared return minibus transfers between the meeting point in Hua Hin and the pier in Ranong, return speedboat crossings to Myanmar, Myanmar entry fees, assistance with border formalities and lunch at Andaman Club.

After receiving your request, we will check your documents and participation conditions, including any applicable additional charges, and confirm the total price before sending a payment link. Overstay fines and personal expenses are paid separately.

Include your visa type, visa expiry date and the end date of your current permitted stay in the booking request. Attach photos of your visa and entry stamps.

We will check whether the trip is suitable for your circumstances and confirm the conditions before sending a payment link. If you need to cancel a visa or permission to stay, mention this separately.

State your nationality and the exact expiry date of your permitted stay in the booking request, and attach photos of your documents. Eligibility for the trip with an overstay is checked separately.

Overstay fines are not included in the trip price. Paying a fine does not guarantee re-entry to Thailand.

Include the child’s age and nationality in your booking request, and attach photos of their passport and pages showing Thai visas and immigration stamps. We will check eligibility and confirm the price before payment.

Check the child’s permitted stay separately from the parents’ permission to stay. Consider the long road journey and boat crossing. If you need a child seat or have questions about documents for the accompanying adult, mention this in your request.

Select your programme and preferred date in the booking form, enter your contact details and attach photos of your documents. We will check availability, eligibility and the total price, then send a payment link and further instructions via WhatsApp or email.

No payment is required when submitting your request. Book ahead, especially if your permitted stay is about to expire. Before departure, make sure you have received booking confirmation with the exact meeting time and location.

You can cancel your booking free of charge at least seven days before departure. To cancel or request a date change, contact our support team and provide your booking number.

Rescheduling depends on availability. The conditions for changing dates or cancelling less than seven days before departure must be confirmed with our support team.
