Bangkok is a city full of hectic life, running cars, skyscrapers and shopping centers, busy streets, millions of people, and an endless amount of entertainment.
The Phi Phi Islands in the south of Thailand, on the other hand, offer a completely different kind of holidays, a calm and unhurried rhythm of life by the Andaman Sea. This sea is famous for its azure bays, diverse underwater world and always warm water.
The Phi Phi Archipelago consists of a group of islands, the most popular of which are Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh. Some time ago, Phi Phi Leh was known only among divers and lovers of uninhabited islands. But it became famous in the year 2000 after the release of the movie The Beach, which was filmed at Maya Bay.
Phi Phi Don is the only island in the archipelago where you can stay and live for a while. An indescribable atmosphere of serenity and carelessness reigns on this island. There are no vehicles (except the police and ambulance), no skyscrapers or shopping centers. But there you can find, on the other hand, a sufficient number of exotic bungalows and villas, many cozy cafes and bars.
You can enjoy a real beach holiday on Phi Phi, go snorkeling, and visit the viewing platform, which offers a panoramic view of the Andaman Sea. In the evening you can go for entertainment to local beach bars. Phi Phi is absolutely suitable for a relaxing family holiday, and it is appealing for young active travellers as well.
The most affordable way get to Phi-Phi is to book a bus ticket from Bangkok.
Located on Thanon Thani, opposite the Montanatip Tour office, just off Khaosan Road.
